In the spirit of the season, we are pleased to share joyful holiday news from our friends at the Virlanie Foundation, located in Manila, Philippines. Last Wednesday, NCLH Hiring Partner, CF Sharp celebrated Christmas with the children at the Marco Polo Children’s Home (now called Babies and Toddler’s Home) in Makati City, Manila. The CF Sharp team, led by former NCL team member, Kjell Hjartnes, shared several hours of singing, dancing, a magic show and a special holiday lunch with the children.

They ended the party with traditional gift giving where large stuffed animals were a favorite! Norwegian Cruise Line has maintained a close connection with Virlanie Foundation since 1999, collecting donations through various events over the years. In 2012, the partnership was formalized with the creation of Project Tulong. Today, over 6,500 crew members donate to Project Tulong. Despite coming from unfortunate situations in their young lives, the children pictured above are happy and healthy. Thanks to the joint foundation, Project Tulong, the generosity of NCLH, NCLH team members and the caring staff at CF Sharp, the wellbeing, education and medical care for these children has been fully funded. Over the years, twelve Virlanie Foundation children have gone on to secure shipboard roles with Norwegian Cruise Line and they often return to visit, especially around the holidays if not working on board. He was joined by CF Sharp staff (from left), Jikie, Abi and Kjell.
