Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) Administrator Sonia Malaluan declared specific solutions to documentary processing through automation and digitalization.

Malaluan said the agency will start the deployment of its Marina Blockchain-Enabled Automated Certification System (Marina Best) in all its regional offices. Marina Best is an advanced web app for handling relevant applications. All applications received will be processed online in real-time, accessible through web or mobile, using electronic certificates and licenses. The platform also offers online payments, updates and tracking, plus notifications for certificate expiration. It covers various agency processes, including but not limited to shipyard operators and seafarers. Malaluan made the announcement during a meeting with officers and members of the Association of Licensed Manning Agencies (Alma)–Maritime Group last Thursday, January 4.
